We recently hosted Grade 7 pupils from a local Junior Secondary School, who came for two sessions in our science lab. Junior Secondary Schools are a new creation under Kenya’s revised curriculum and these are the first children to be learning at this level. The government has introduced science practicals but has not yet constructed labs or provided equipment in public schools, so we were glad to be able to give the pupils some practical experience of the things they have been learning about. Our Form 2 students were there to help them as they discovered microscopes, Bunsen burners, glassware and other lab equipment.
